Thanks so much for this. The WA State Legislative session ends tomorrow, meaning no new legislation can be introduced until next session, right? So, in lieu of contacting our legislators re: Child Sex Trafficking Investigation and Accountability Act, should we continue to contact Gov. Ferguson urging a state of emergency and specifically asking for a special investigation any alleged illicit conduct mentioned in the Epstein files that occurred in WA State?
As a therapist, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this article. So many of us struggle with despair and I tell my clients the same thing. "Get engaged with life. The more you do, the better you feel." Thank you!!! I appreciate the action plan you discussed.
Yesterday was a good day as a quest speaker at a local HS Environmental class. We did a 'food waste mile' exercise using buckets I use in Animal Food Rescue. Connecting food producers to animal owners/gardeners to hyper locally compost/feed critters means our haulers take that much less 127 miles away, there isn't microplastics pushed into soil, and landfill methane is prevented.
I agree with Christopher we cannot allow despair to define this moment.
No matter the noise, the division, or the politics of fear pushed by Trump, Republican leadership, and the MAGA movement, our responsibility is not to surrender to cynicism — it is to keep building a better future.
Progress has never come from giving up.
It has always come from people who refused to lose hope, who organized, who spoke out, and who believed that tomorrow could be better than today.
Our optimism is not naïve; it is an act of determination.
We move forward together — defending democracy, protecting one another, and working every day toward a more just, more compassionate, and more inclusive country.
The future belongs to those who keep showing up, keep fighting for what is right, and refuse to let fear win.
I agree with everything you've said here, Chris. Another well thought-out article strongly encouraging people to act and not just doom scroll or scream at their TV's. The strike on May 1st is so important. People need to be aware of it now so they can plan in advance. If you run out of necessities during the strike, you'll be out shopping at Walmart, Target, or on your computer with Amazon--all things you shouldn't be doing. So it's so important to start stocking up now instead of waiting until after we begin the General Strike. Remember the Bus Boycott in Montgomery, Alabama and how successful it was. It took a whole year, and it also took people working together for the good of everyone. This could be the same, but we need cooperation. Thanks, Chris, for the lists of places and things that we should all boycott starting today!. Your research is invaluable.
Been emailing and some calling (i get nervous on call). Anyway, I would like to get a group of people to go to talk to my state senator. My individual requests are probably going to be rejected(as they did with the governor) How do i go about doing that? My friends are in a different state and I withdrew from most social media platforms as a protest some time ago.
Would i need to go back to those sites?
Might be able to talk to some people in the protest on the 28th but idk who to even approach…
Im sure ill figure smth out just wondering if anyone has ideas.
Besides the companies that snoop on you, People should be aware of the National Data Center at Bluffdale, UT.
It was created by the authorization of the PATRIOT act, enacted after 9/11. In fact it was written before 9/`11 and pulled out of the filing cabinet, per the excuse 9/11 provided.
The Data center is humongous, bigger than AI centers. The public was told that it is limited to surveilling communications between overseas and the continental US, but communications monitoring is not controlled by a switch, it picks up and stores all comms, and now with AI, and that we are living in a national security state. all electronic communications are sniffed, tagged and stored for use latter. Big Brother knows who you are, even on substack.
The way to escape surveillance is via analog, like old fashioned telephone lines, even then you might be using a telephone, but if the other end is a cell phone. the conversation is captured.
However, and I might be wrong, the cell phone user can be identified, but not the landline user.
To intercept land line conversations, one needs to intercept the call, and that means they need to know who is on one end of the conversation and tap the line.
Bin laden, and even Hezbollah resorted to analog, at first paper and messengers, then Hezbollah got smart and went for pagers and hand held radios, but Israel caught on to that, and had them rigged with explosives.
Apply to work the polls at your County Office of Elections. I claim to be unaffiliated with a political party. I’ve done it for 3 years. We need to be there.

Exactly correct. Thanks for bringing that up, Angie.
Okay! AG Brown needs to pull these threads: https://www.chronline.com/stories/released-epstein-files-detail-sex-traffickers-visits-to-washington-state,396158
Since reading Christopher, I've contacted both the governor and AG via their portal, but have seen no indication that they are even paying attention.
We are in serious straits, and there does not seem to be any sense of urgency, Business as usual.
Then I stop and recall that there is a lot of powerful and influential money, in this state, Boeing and Microsoft for starters.
Will do, Fergie is my govenor

This is an excellent article. Thank you. You made it easy to participate in making our country a better place to live.
Despair thrives on the belief that nothing we do matters. Action breaks that spell. Citizenship is a verb.
Thanks, Chris. Between your prompts and Donald's behavior, I've become quite the activist again.
Morning yoga, consistently, 3x week. Tai chi 2-3 times a week. Cardio on the other days. Move forward with letters and home obligations.

This is excellent work

Here's a few ideas;
1. Get in touch with your local indivisible chapter and just say what you're looking for.
2. Get in touch with your local vets for peace chapter and just say what you're looking for
3. Get in touch with your local Democrats and just tell what you're looking for.
4. Get in touch with local libertarians and just tell them what you're looking for.
5. Print out 100 flyers with what you're looking for and place them on the front doors if your neighbors homes.
6. Put some of those flyers on coffee shop cork boards and telephone polls.
Hope these are helpful 🌲🌲🌲
Thank you!!!!
Great ideas!
