Christopher,

Wonderful! Thank you. My husband and I are retired and we are Unitarians so we will take your offer to our community and try to sow these seeds everywhere we can here in Mt Vernon-Alexandria, VA.

We’ve admired your work and your dedication to our freedom from the first time we read you.

My husband is a retired government change agent and I’m a retired clinical social worker/psychotherapist.

We are old (73 yrs old) but we are very willing to expend what energy we have to fight this fascist hideousness that is destroying our country. We’ll go down fighting!

Whatever the graying appearance, evidently I have a lot more P &V left in me than most-most-most people half my age!

Fellow Unitarian here in San Antonio TX, member of our Social Justice Committee which is very active in protest marches and at facilities like ‘concentration camp’ in Dilley TX and proposed one here in SA.

Please keep explaining the Montana Project and why the Supreme Court can't just 86 it. Everyone is incredulous when I try to explain how such a possibility can work and survive SCOTUS.

Definitely, just so you know we created a piece of model Legislation called the Means Testing Corporate Welfare act that conditions any government subsidies and contracts on not spending corporate money on political influence. The idea is that a corporation doesn't qualify for receiving tax dollars in any form if they spend that money on politics. It's built to be more robust and there is no viable route for challenging it in court because of the precedent it's built on.

Is this model legislation on your website and available to anyone ?

Best places to put our energy and attention now to protect election integrity in November

Ah yes Data centers. Their impact on the environment, the land use issues they bring up. What they can be used for. The money. The power in all its forms. I will message you and discuss. Lots going on in my world or adjacent. Thanks for what you do.

How do we get our progressive organizations to face the true peril our country is in? They are convinced that the Democrats are going to win back control of Congress in November, and that is all it will take to stop this fascist regime. How convince them that their playing by the electoral rules will not save them from a regime who ignores every rule and law in service of their cruelty and corruption? I am so worried about our country, its vulnerable people, animals, and ecosystems. They are trying to devour every national resource for their own gain.

Deborah, we must take matters into our own hands and form our own civic groups across the country based on Mr. Armitages ideas. I have a model on exactly how to do this under my recent posts. I share your opinion that other progressive groups are not doing enough. Anyone with a leadership personality (formal or informal) must form a local civic group and I have provided one possible blueprint, open source and free to be modified by anyone who sees this. Folks who are not leadership personalities and do not wish to be co-founders can simply join the groups. But before that they can help spread the word. I am envisioning small groups of 20 or less people across the country - "pods" as Mr. Armitage calls them. Thousands and thousands of de-centralized pods with zero bloated bureaucracy. We can do this!

I have subscribed to your posts, and will read and consider your blueprint.

Great post.

I hope you can keep "dumbing things down."

I talk to a lot of people about what you're up to. Little things at the tactical level are pretty easy to explain, the bigger picture is trickier.

By dumbing down, I mean simplifying both semantically and structurally.

For example:

Here are the three things "strong cities" can and should be doing this year. And here's the draft of a letter you can send to your mayor and city council members.

(Three things are better than five or six.)

I know you have a lot on your plate, but consider adding one more "ER service" if you can. Is it possible to create a Weekly Work practice as a community agenda for action? Just one thing each week and maybe a preview of what's coming up next week?

You're doing great!

I am part of a coalition group in New Hampshire. I volunteer with the Data and Communications Team where we publish a weekly action-oriented newsletter. We identify the bills before the NH State Legislatures and how to sign in to support or oppose. We work with other progressive organizations at the local level. I would love to be on your contact list.

Drey connects the dots to say that the mother of all data centers is what they are building under the ballroom. How do we confirm and stop this?

I’d like training on how to find out if a data center might be coming to your community and how to stop it before building begins if it is!

The one thing I might add is to avoid partisan political organizations like the plague; mainly because of funding vulnerabilities— but also, real power comes when people from all sides of the political and socio-economic spectrum join together. This was the Alinsky tradition. Ideologues reject his concept and that’s OK.

Wonderful! Busy right now but can you add the offer for training etc. often as part of your message? So many fingers in so many places is hard. Thank you, you are different for sure.

Becca's avatar

Thanks. Still exploring your differences and your mind-set. I enjoy different approaches to the same problems. You give me that. Thanks.

Absolutely! Thank you for the quick response!
