Christopher Armitage is right that state prosecutors have the power. I'd add one thing to his documentation: the institutional pattern that produced Jonathan Ross.
I've been tracking ICE Commander Gregory Bovino's operations across five cities. Federal judges have already found his agents' conduct "shocks the conscience" and that Bovino himself "repeatedly lied" under oath. The lying isn't incidental—it's how this system operates. When agents lie about sex offender lists to justify abusing U.S. citizen Scott Thao, they're following the playbook of a commander who lies to federal judges.
Ross didn't go rogue. He's an 18-year veteran who served as a firearms instructor and active shooter trainer—he trained the agents DHS brought in through "Call of Duty"-style videos targeting gun show attendees with "defend your culture" messaging. The trainers set the culture. The culture killed Renee Good.
The state prosecution case Armitage outlines is essential. But so is understanding that this isn't about one bad agent—it's a system designed to produce and replicate Jonathan Rosses.
True...Ross is not the ONLY "one bad apple"! This is everyone in ICE. It's in the training.
That said......Ross WILL indeed b PROSECUTED--if not NOW, then 3 years from now. Which is fine...WHATEVER! And he MUST b prosecuted...to serve as a POSTER-BOY for why ICE shouldn't gleefully HOMICIDE n innocent woman who was NO threat--her car's tires were cut hard to the right to avoid hitting the cold-blooded MURDERER that blew her HEAD CLEAN OFF, cooly pumping-off 1 POINT-BLANK BULLET thru her head...AFTER blowing 2 point-blank bullets into her side!
Who is this ICES Neanderthal?!
Well he better shave the LICE out of his beard! Because that BOY'S ugly face is goin' UP on a "poster"!
Rageful Ross SCREWED the POOCHY-pooch by STALKING his American citizen VICTIM of an ICES-Brownshirt...spilling her blood all OVER the fucking place in her car: airbag; front seat, dashboard, steering wheel, front driver-side window; passenger window; windshield; driver's door; passenger door; radio; air vents; rear-view mirror; seatbelts; backseats; rear doors-&-windows; ceiling in front & back; rear seating belts...& even Ms. Good's poor, scared, shaking pet puppy! Yeah...Ross must b given the MAX: to DISSUADE future "Rambos" from going all "Son of Sam" on unsuspecting WOMEN in our nation!
There is some hope...something that we can do. This is a long shot.
We can stop ICE funding! It will take some pressure on Congress.
Here's how it looks there are nine appropriations bills that are still not passed by Congress and one is Homeland Security,ICE funding , these must be signed by Trump by January 30th, those parts of the government may shut down again.
There are two ways to avert this: One is for Congress to pass another continuing resolution (by January 30th) to keep funding those agencies at last year’s levels, while the other is for Congress and the president to pass/sign the bills by January 30th.
But when it comes to the Homeland Security (ICE) bill…Here's where we apply pressure and Senate Democrats have leverage here. Appropriations bills can be filibustered — and you need 60 votes in the Senate to stop a filibuster. There's only 53 Republicans in the Senate, so they need to convince seven votes from Democrats and or independents to overcome a filibuster and fund Homeland Security (and ICE) past January 30th.
However independents and democrats should say they will only fund the other resolutions and refuse to give them the 7 votes until they agree to drop ICE and this would not fund homeland security and ICE.... if the government shuts down, ICE really ISIS USA, will not get the funding needed to keep paying the goons. In other words, Democrats can demand significant changes to ICE in exchange for their votes — or withhold their votes and cut off Homeland Security (and ICE’s) funding. And without that vote ICE runs out of money January 30th. Agents would likely have to work without pay, or stay home. And you know these guys will not work for free
I *think* the last time Noem declared ICE employees 'essential workers' which meant they had to work, and, unlike TSA for example, Noem got funding for them? If that applied this time around, UCE would not get the huge increase in funding a/o Feb 1.
You're not suggesting he'll part with a nickel of it to fund ICE, are you? Heavens, no. The Venezuela oil money is going in his pocket and it's never coming out.
You’ve triggered an interesting question: Has Donald the Dum ever paid for anything? Ever?
Well yes, he paid off Stormy Daniels*** and Karen (McDougall?), but pay off a business debt???
*** Keep your eyes and ears open: Stormy Daniels was on the “I've Had It” podcast and apparently – to be confirmed – Trump may have paid her off again before the 2020 election.

She had a pulse for 8 minutes afterward, as a physician begged to tend to her and was ordered to get back. In fact, they told the doctor they had their own people on the scene. Her neighbor screamed, “Where?! Where are they????”
The ReTHUGlicans in the House and Senate are not the only ones guilty of inaction! WTH are the Democrats doing, particularly in the cities and states?! Local officials have a LOT they can do, as this article points out! It's all hands on deck now!!
just horrendous that the state is doing nothing. I see reports that ICE might be in trouble for swapping number plates - very illegal - but not for MURDER??
You wrote: "So we make them feel it. Show up at their offices. Show up every day. Renee Good’s neighbors have been in the streets of Minneapolis for two weeks."....
I have had it with the republicans in the house and senate along with trump and his band of ass kissers. The house and senate republicans have no balls if they can’t stand up and do their job they should retire immediately. Trump, Bondi, Miller, JFK jr, Hegseth should all be impeached - this is America not the old Germany with storm troopers -
I read all from your writing - thanks for this action item…
“…Here is the one phone call you can make today. Call your state representative, your state senator, your mayor, your city council member, your attorney general. Ask them: If ICE agents commit crimes in our city or state, will they be arrested like anyone else? If they murder someone and flee the scene, if they beat someone during an abduction, if they break into a home without a warrant, will your office treat them the way it would treat any other person who did the same thing?
If the answer is yes, thank them and ask them to say it publicly. If the answer is no, or if they hedge, or if they refuse to commit, tell them they should resign and let someone who will make that commitment take their place.
We cannot wait until the next election. Many of us are not confident there will be a next election. The time to demand action is now, from the officials who are supposed to work for us, while they still hold the power to act.
Fight or resign. Those are the only options we are offering.”
When justice is possible and action is available, inaction becomes its own verdict. As officials endlessly defer instead of acting within their authority, trust erodes and the harm compounds.
We need governance that remembers who it serves and why these offices exist in the first place.

So tired of the inaction, the silence, the texts asking me for money.

I’m in total agreement. Also restore FEMA funding.
Even if we could shut. the govt down for several weeks ICE , might fall apart
Not even stupid high school DROPOUTS will work for FREE!😄😁😆😅🤣
It’s too late to do anything about the ICE funding.

Doesn’t WA state also have a Democratic trifecta?
Yes, apologies for forgetting to mention my home state! I'll get it corrected 👍
Hey Christopher: Your message is getting out there! Other birds are singing your song. See: https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/a-small-point-on-state-sovereign-powers.
Trump does now have a half billion dollar slush fund in Qatar.
You're not suggesting he'll part with a nickel of it to fund ICE, are you? Heavens, no. The Venezuela oil money is going in his pocket and it's never coming out.
Unless he is investing in a casino, in which case... he hides the money before declaring bankruptcy. So, yea. You seem right.

I am fed up by the lack of action by legislators. What do we have to do to get them to do something?

To Congress, as Audre Lourde has so eloquently said :
Your silence will not protect you.
