The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office should also go after the gofundme monies raised for Jonathan Ross if he is prosecuted. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-ice-officer-jonathan-ross

Thanks for doing the heavy lifting in getting all the contact info for us. I emailed her on 1/16/26. We must fight their obstruction with our own fury, and never stop.

I did that, just seconds ago as I type this, and I did reach someone directly. A very professional and cordial young(?) man. I identified myself as a concerned citizen from out of state, who has of course been following the news as best I can without OD'ing on it. I then asked, first of all, how are you today? He said he was okay.

Then I simply said I supported the County Attorney's office issuing an arrest warrant for Officer Jonathan Ross and urged them to do so. And left it exactly at that.

He said he would relay the message. Before hanging up, I told him stay safe, take care, and as a man of prayer I'm praying for him and everyone in Minnesota. He said thank you for your call and have a good day.

It isn't the end, but it is a beginning. Together we can get this done. We can di this.

I have sent a follow up email to the address provided, strategically amplifying the language from cordial to meaning business. I think the key is as you've been saying, to be relentless, and to let them know that many more will be coming.

Christopher Armitage's avatar

Absolutely. There needs to be a steady escalation of communication. Thanks for keeping at it.

I connected with someone matching your description and was told they were marking number of calls but not details at the time (due to volume of calls) - so I opted to try and leave a message. I hope it was recorded.

Christopher Armitage's avatar

I'd recommend also sending them a ping via email and social media. It really multiplies the impact.

Also thank you for getting after it, this matters so much right now

I'm seeing that Democrats might also be changing their tune on continuing to support ICE. Amazing what some PEOPLE PRESSURE can do! https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/newsletter-ice-protest-democrats/

Have reposted this notice with link to the contact info you provided on my bsky & will follow up in email asap. Thanks

Wayne, this is perfect. Done to perfection. No notes. I wish I could put this interaction on a billboard here in Minnesota. Thank you!!!

Wayne Shaw's avatar

Thank you. That means a lot coming from someone a lot closer to it than I am. But none of us are exempt. Ergo....

Called, spoke to someone, and made the request. Thank you for providing a simple, quick way to take action.

Before Chicago, Philly was on the list for fed invasion, Its DA took to video and announced he would prosecute any crimes and see whether a local jury would convict. Recently, the Philly Sheriff issued a very strong statement warning off ICE. We need state and local leaders to stand up like this and to act. Jonathan Ross should be charged. He will have far more opportunity to defend himself than Renee Good did.

Wayne Shaw's avatar

Philly is a very inspiring example. The illegitimate regime is obviously too chicken to try it there, but it mistakes "Minnesota nice" for weakness. Let's see how long the goons last with two and a half or more months of winter left, or more.

DC (here) is a unique situation too, and more than a little weird. Safer on the surface, but no better, and just as weird.

Kim Slocum's avatar

Just to clarify, there is a little back and forth going on between the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Department (which made the comment that hit the news) and the Philadelphia Police Department (primary law enforcement organization for the city). They are not the same thing.

Wayne Shaw's avatar

Thanks. We need all the clarity and accurate sharing of information we can get.

Kim Slocum's avatar

I live in the Philadelphia media market and this has been a big story locally. I haven’t seen similar granularity at the national level.

Wayne Shaw's avatar

Understood. In MD/DC myself.

Kim Slocum's avatar

Great. Please reciprocate sometime in the future if you have better local knowledge. Stay safe!

Subject: Request for Probable Cause Review and Consideration of Arrest Warrant in the Shooting Death of Renee Good

Dear County Attorney Moriarty,

My name is [Your Full Name] and I am a resident of [City, State]. I am writing to respectfully request that your office conduct a thorough review of the publicly reported facts surrounding the January 7, 2026, fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent identified as Jonathan Ross, and to determine whether there is probable cause under Minnesota law to seek an arrest warrant for charges that may include unlawful use of deadly force.

According to credible reports, Ms. Good, a 37-year-old Minneapolis resident and U.S. citizen, was shot multiple times by the ICE agent while in her vehicle during a confrontation in south Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Fire Department report indicates Good suffered four gunshot wounds, including to the head and chest, and was declared dead after emergency response efforts.

I understand that prosecutorial decisions must be grounded in both evidence and applicable law. Under Minnesota Statutes § 609.066, deadly force by a peace officer is justified only if an objectively reasonable officer would believe, based on the totality of the circumstances known at the time, that such force was necessary to protect against death or great bodily harm or to effect an arrest or prevent escape of a person whom the officer reasonably believes has committed a felony and poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm.

Minnesota law also requires that an arrest based on probable cause be supported by specific facts and circumstances that reasonably lead to the belief a person committed a crime. A warrant may be issued by a judge after a neutral review of such probable cause. The statutes governing arrest procedures and warrants (e.g., Minn. Stat. § 629.34) set forth conditions under which a peace officer may arrest without a warrant and the role of probable cause in such actions.

Given these standards:

I respectfully request that your office evaluate all evidence — including body-worn camera footage, civilian video, witness statements, official reports, and medical records — in the context of Minnesota’s statutory requirements for the justified use of deadly force and probable cause for criminal charges.

If your review leads you to conclude that the evidence supports probable cause that the use of deadly force was not legally justified under Minnesota law, I urge you to seek an arrest warrant and pursue appropriate charges.

I also request that your office provide transparency on how these legal standards are being applied in this case and, if appropriate, a public explanation of your conclusions once a determination is reached.

I recognize the gravity of prosecutorial decisions and the need to respect constitutional protections for both victims and defendants. My objective in writing is to ensure that Minnesota law is applied impartially and thoroughly, and that the community can have confidence in the process.

Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.

Sincerely,

[Your Full Name]

Just called. The person who answered hung up on me mid sentence. I was calm and reasoned. This should be a Clarion call to barrage her office with calls.

William Farrar's avatar

I tried to contact her via the website, but the website has been scrubbed, al there is,is a welcome page, no way to contact her.

I am not placing any bets that she will do anything, just another coward, complicit or corrupt.

I found her email address and wrote to her. https://www.hennepinattorney.org/about/contact

I called. The person who answered the phone said they are considering opening an investigation. When I told them that there is so much evidence available that they should be past consideration, he blamed the lack of cooperation from the FBI. I reiterated the availability of evidence and that they could conduct their own investigation independent to the FBI without any further impediments. He politely thanked me for my call.

Christopher Armitage's avatar

Excellent work, Bill.

10/10 job addressing their response with facts.

Subject: Shooting death of Renee Good

Mary Moriarty must issue an arrest warrant for Jonathan Ross in the shooting death of Renee Good. The law is plain on this matter, for which evidence is plentiful. Ross has no job related immunity here, and your office knows it. Indeed, you have a duty to charge, and doing your duty in this context is crucial to all the citizens of our country.

If Moriarty won’t use the authority she has, who will stand for the law?

Take courage. You must do your duty.

Subject: The killing of Renee Good by Jonathan Ross

I am writing from Cambridge, Massachusetts to urge Prosecutor Mary Moriarty and the Hennepin County DA’s office to bring charges against Jonathan Ross for the wanton killing of Renee Good.  His conduct with Renee Good was not reasonable or necessary and he is not therefore immune to prosecution.  There is abundant video evidence and eye witness testimony to support, indeed, to compel such an assessment. If the President can organize and order events where ICE shoots people and the DOJ sabotages any accountability, we are going to see a lot more shooting.I urge you to act promptly and provide hope that that we are still a republic of laws. Please do your duty and protect all of us from predatory behavior of ICE. Sincerely,

Right Here:

"Some will say charging Ross risks escalation. **That’s backwards.** Holding him accountable shows the public that prosecutors are here for them, not to protect the people terrorizing their streets." (emphasis added)

Thank you, Christopher. I just called Moriarty's office and requested that Jonathan Ross be arrested for the murder of Renee Good. "Thank you for calling" was the reply.
