I love what you post ... you are one of the few who *EVER* offer actual steps to do something. It is one reason I stopped caring or reading, what Chris Hedges and Noam Chomsky have to "say". We *know* how bad it is, but they never offered any solutions, or steps to take to make a difference -- you do, so thank you very much.
I share your posts often ... I've mailed a few to family and friends, and I post them to FB and BlueSky.
Chris Hedges ignores Putin, and concentrates his ire on Israel alone, and Chomsky the same, also Chomsky is shown in friendship with Epstein. What a phony.
My husband and I write a letter, *almost* every day, to our political leaders. Chris—based on your great (really great!) research and articles, we’ve been shifting our focus to actions our state leaders can take. We distribute directly it to a small-ish list of followers, but we then post it to a larger group at Resistbot (“Daily Resist”). On resistbot, people can literally click and send (once they’ve initially signed up). It takes 15 seconds to send off the letter. Taking the time to sort through the issues is hard; we try to write an accurate, concise letter and make it as easy as possible for people to take action. In addition to the full range of federal political leaders, we can use resistbot to send emails to our state senator and rep, governor, Secretary of State or equivalent…even your mayor. Unfortunately AG’s aren’t there, because so many use contact pages instead of direct email. I just thought I’d mention this, as resistbot can make wider distribution easier, and I know many folks want to take action, but have very busy lives and little time to do so.
Resistbot does make it easier, unfortunately since resistbot gives you a prewritten form letter to send, elected officials don't count them in the same way as an individualized message. I've had multiple staffers tell me they just "toss them with spam because it's basically too easy." That isn't in every case, thankfully.
It's good to meet activism where you're at and it's way better than nothing.
Varying tactics is also important for overall strategy, which it sounds like you and your husband have been showing up for a while, frequently, and in multiple ways so that is fantastic.
Having said that, the work you and your husband are doing matters and I appreciate the act of stepping up reliably for the defense of your fellow humans!
Thanks Chris. I definitely hear what you’re saying. Its not perfect, I agree, but I think for many people, its doing something that is quick and easy enough to feel doable, and at the very least (from what I’ve been told), it gets you a checkmark in the right column for the issue you’re advocating for, and those tally’s get reported out to the rep or senator, usually weekly. We try to make the letters as factual, detailed and respectful as possible, with clear and realistic asks of the most impactful action we think the senator or rep can take to address the issue (we see a lot of letters that are generalities, and I’m told they get nowhere.). Your personal info is part of the letter, just as it would be if sent from the representative or senator’s web contact page. From what I can tell, the subject appears to the staffer as “Subject: Message from constituent [name] regarding [topic]”—so they know its from a constituent. At least all that is the information I’ve been operating on, so I hope it’s true, but if others know differently, I’d love to hear.
It’s been our deep hope that every action by every one of us is a drop, which flows into a stream, when then flows into a river, which then flows into an ocean of resistance.
Please consider making phone calls instead. As Christopher said emails may be discounted. An actual call from a constituent equates to potentially a hundred additionally pissed off voters. Five Calls app is one way to easily make these daily calls.
Yes, agree Brenda. We usually provide a call script as well on the same topic as our emails….unfortunately I can’t also put that through resistbot, so the call scripts are limited to the people on our emails distribution list.
Would you please add me to your list? Not only do I fall in the category of those " too busy people ", but I am not sure I would know what to say with impact. Too long is never good. Furthermore, too many of the ones I know, either outraged or disheartened, will not make the effort or jump to action. Thank you!!
I write to formally request that the Office of the Attorney General immediately open and prioritize a comprehensive investigation into any crimes connected to Jeffrey Epstein that may have been committed against individuals within the State of New Jersey or that otherwise fall under New Jersey jurisdiction.
Given the extensive and well-documented scope of Epstein’s criminal enterprise, it is both reasonable and necessary to assume that victims, facilitators, financial activities, or related misconduct may have touched this state. Any failure to fully examine potential New Jersey connections risks leaving victims without justice and allowing unlawful conduct to remain unaddressed.
As the chief legal representative of the people of New Jersey, your office carries the responsibility to ensure that all credible allegations of criminal activity affecting residents of this state are investigated thoroughly, independently, and without delay. Survivors deserve accountability, transparency, and assurance that no jurisdictional gap will prevent the pursuit of justice.
Accordingly, I urge your office to:
Initiate an immediate review of all available evidence relating to Epstein’s activities with possible ties to New Jersey;
Coordinate with federal authorities and other state jurisdictions to identify victims or witnesses located in New Jersey;
Examine financial, property, and institutional connections within the state that may have facilitated criminal conduct; and
Publicly affirm that New Jersey will pursue accountability wherever state law provides jurisdiction.
This matter must be treated as a priority. The seriousness and scale of Epstein’s crimes demand decisive action, and the people of New Jersey are entitled to know that their Attorney General’s office is fully committed to uncovering the truth and enforcing the law without hesitation.
I respectfully request confirmation that this matter is under review and that appropriate investigative steps are being undertaken.
May I use your letter as a template for my state of MA? I cannot use email. They’ll dump it anyway, but our AG does not post one, just forms to fill out.
I did call about following the money trail through our state re Epstein payments to victims etc…but I’m not as concise as you are.
After I actually write the letter, my intention is to get as many signatures as possible from my pol grp here plus others if possible. However, this must be asap as well (even though I have some kind of stupid virus). In that case I’ll send it solo.
Thank you in advance for your activism plus smarts; and, of course the amazing Christopher Armitage as well.
I have come to look forward to your writing. Always, while encouraging or staying with facts, you offer “one foot in front of the other”, to the do the hard work of being a citizen in the USA. Gives me hope and do the one small way I participate is important. Like I love to write things by hand so I write with a group called Postcards to Voters. Tangible. That’s what you encourage, offering ways to contact our representatives with crafted information.
Ill start to call my AG/rep/state rep tomorrow and every week thereafter… hopefully multiple times... Ill stop federal withholding from my paycheck too. That will prompt a conversation with HR.. hopefully i can explain why succinctly. Thats a way to spread influence right? Conversations? Idk. I think so
Now how to spread this more? I dont know. Im meeting with some friends in july, i can certainly do it then but idk how to go about doing it consistently now…
I feel like im a random 25 nobody and Im very nervous Christopher…ive never done this … the fear is strong but every fiber of my existence is demanding me to act, so here i go. Wish me luck.
You're doing an awesome job, thank you for ACTIVELY putting intention into the process!
Have you checked out my booklet “Grab Them By The EARR: How to get politicians to do what you want” it's only a 20-25 minute read and outlines the answers to your questions. It's free in the shop at http://BuyMeACoffee.com/TheER or physical copies are at http://TheExistentialistRepublic.com
Reach out anytime and thanks for fighting to make the world a better place 🌲 🌲 🌲
LaBona, I know exactly how you feel as a ‘random’. Are you actually 25 or did I miss something?!? If so, you’re a treasure for your generation. I’m a passionate highly expressive and active 85 often feeling random although I’ve been told I’m not: Started a pol conscious activist group here, send posts like Christopher’s on to them, and try my best to take esp Christopher’s suggested actions.
I’m finding each of us has our own way of being engaged.
No one’s so far just like me. Probably not just like you either:-) Brava.
Yes. Im 25, turning 26 soon. Thank you for your experience and kind words. It is good to read that I am not a “lone” nobody as much as a i am alone… i think today i understood the difference between lonely and alone.. thank you.
I just sent the state AG a message, asking hiim to follow the lead of the Mayor of Denver and protect just from armed, masked men who are killing, kidnapping, harassing and beating up citizens. An officer or enlisted of the armed forces couldn't do such a thing, so why are other Federal employees, llike from ICE and CBP allowed to so such things with impunity.
Christopher as you know I am happy to write and apply pressure to those who need it - but without knowing the origins of those taken advantage of (if any in my state ) it’s difficult for me to demand justice - while I know that over a thousands were taken advantage of I can’t just demand action without more knowledge . I feel a general letter will not carry the weight I want
As for my comments on trump i thinks it important to get opinions on the record _ its unfortunate that we have a president who's ego is so huge that the only thing he really cares about is himself and how much money he can get for himself, is family and his wealthy friends at the expense of the American people
Calling for investigations to see if criminal activities intersected with state criminal code is a valuable part of ensuring justice is served. The governor is a great option as well. State reps. This is entirely legal, leads to discovery of new evidence of criminal activities, and puts the Epstein class on notice.
This was a vast criminal network that is actively being worked. If you'd feel more comfortable with any other type of ask then go for it! AGs are the target today because although some cannot start an investigation without a referral, letting them know that their constituents want to see them investigating this situation during a time of national crisis is important for keeping it as an urgent item on their radar.
Christopher you are correct and i will write in that Vain
I don't know if you are listening to trump right now supposedly updating the American people on the Iran war and awarding medals to service members, but i think we need to wright to members of our government to express the following:
I just turned off my TV because I could no longer listen.
At a moment when the American people deserved clarity about the war he initiated with Iran and solemn recognition of the service members risking their lives, the president chose instead to talk about décor, personal selections, and a ballroom he plans to build.
Leadership demands seriousness, empathy, and respect for the gravity of war.
Our troops’ bravery is not a backdrop for self-promotion, and the nation deserves transparency, accountability, and compassion from its commander in chief.
What I witnessed was not steady leadership but a troubling disconnect from the fears, sacrifices, and concerns of ordinary Americans.
A president who cannot demonstrate empathy or understanding in moments of crisis undermines public trust and the dignity of the office.
For the good of the country and the integrity of our democracy, I believe the president should resign.
With that in mind, I share send that sentiment to a couple elected officials if you're up for it.
You have something in your heart and it's striking with a specific event, that's a powerful compass for action and I encourage you to folllow that.
I am focusing so much on the Epstein files lately for outreach because 1. It's 100% legal for states to do independent investigations. 2. It could help uncover everything they're trying to distract us from.
Thanks as always for being here and caring about the world so much, Mike 🌲🌲🌲
Thank you Christopher. “ 1. It's 100% legal for states to do independent investigations. 2. It could help uncover everything they're trying to distract us from.” I like ‘independent investigations’ and ‘uncover’ because if that occurs in 24 Democratically led states the impact and score of findings would be powerful.
We should never forget the importance of art in this battle. Everything from a meaningful painting to a funny political cartoon can help keep spirits up among those fighting daily to grow their influence. At the same time, just one powerful song or story has the potential to change thousands of minds. "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is one the best known examples of this in US history. The influence of this book was profound and far reaching in gaining support for the anti-slavery movement. It even lead to its author Harriet Beecher Stowe meeting with President Lincoln at the White House during the Civil War!
Mine in TN worked for the current MAGA governor and TN Supreme Court appointed him - 8 years. He is against gender affirming care. I don’t like him. He is to heartless for me.
As the article explains, they can investigate to see if any crimes intersected with state criminal law. If they discover criminal activities that occurred in other states then they refer to that state and hand over the evidence. It's legal for them to open investigations to see if anything intersected.

Dear Attorney General Donovan,

This is right. And even though this is certainly an escalating calamity, the time to invest with determination is now.
I really like your articles Christopher

Sorry if sounds ignorant but how do I find out who is my AG in NJ?
