I live in MS, and our AG was all too happy to hand over the rolls. Then the legislature passed its own version of the SAVE act, requiring proof of citizenship to register. I tell my patients every day to check their voter registration, and check it often. We actually have a competitive Senate race this year, and Cindy “I’d attend a public hanging” Hyde-Smith has GOT TO GO.
As a Floridian, I'm in the same situation. Our Republicans handed them over day 1, then passed a state (Suppress American Voters Everywhere) Act, then passed additional anti-voter laws, then conducted their gerrymander that blatantly violated the state constitutional amendment barring political gerrymandering in 2018.
NOTHING has been done to them. I fought against every single fascist action, to no avail. The state Supreme Court, stacked with 6 out of 7 Desantis appointees, said that the blatantly unconstitutional gerrymander can stay in place for now because....... something, something, the US Supreme Court's recent anti-constitutional ruling in your state I believe.
The fact that there's even 10 Americans who will go out and vote for these Christofascist traitors is beyond disgusting. Meanwhile, where the hell are the ads from the Democratic party hammering these fascists and exposing their betrayals? Where is the sense of urgency to get out ahead of their bullshit lies to prepare the nation for the endless "my election was rigged" (even though the elections of other Republicans on the same ballot who won magically were not)? Where are the REAL leaders in the party?

Yes, I do. It definitely bothers me because they're otherwise good, intelligent people. The common denominator in EVERY family I know that has the same issue, mine included, is Fox Fake News, Fakebook, and the rest of the conservative propaganda machine.
The Covid pandemic also served as the perfect catalyst for super igniting the distrust, fear, and idiocy that only further drove those individuals to believe the endless stream of lies and stupid that the propaganda and psy-ops like Qanon feeds them constantly. They chose to believe that Covid was fake but also somehow a bioweapon, two completely contradictory and false claims, because it made them less fearful and simultaneously gave them someone to blame.
Trump, as a con man whose only actual skill is manipulating people into believing he's a strong and brave leader (yeah, I know), provided those fearful people with what they desperately want most. Someone who will take control of everything in their lives, tell them what to believe and who to blame, tell them that their bigotry is not only acceptable but worth celebrating, and promise them that THEY have no responsibility for the problems in their own lives.
It's also why almost of them are so vulnerable to religious manipulation as well, even when that manipulation is so blatantly antithetical to every fundamental lesson their religion actually teaches.

Well said! I’m in Wisconsin and this coming Tuesday I am making a presentation to our local Dem community to adopt Indivisible’s Hands Off Our Vote program. They’ve developed a toolkit that is easy to follow and adaptable to your community’s situation. They’ve done a lot of the up front work.
There has to be a HUGE voter turnout by hand-delivered mail-in ballots in even greater numbers than what we saw in 2020, particularly in swing states. An avalanche of mail-in ballots is what gave Biden the edge over Trump, because of COVID. Doing this kills a couple of birds with one stone: (1) paper ballots delivered in advance of the election avoids the almost inevitable voter suppression tactic of using ICE to police the polls on election day, or any other suppression tactics like fewer poll locations and/or things like bomb scares, and (2) it potentially overrides any electronic shenanigans with vote-switching. But we have to come out in droves this election, and every election from here on out.

As a voter in Texas I am pissed that they have over the voting rolls. Also, I check my voting registration monthly because I don’t trust them.

We live in CA and receive our ballot by mail. But we hand deliver our Ballots to our Registrar of Voters Office. Do it if you can.
